Plagues to Remember

Edible plagues

A major part of the Exodus story was the plagues.  To help the kids remember the plagues, we made them all edible!

Throughout the years, we've altered the plagues to include toys instead of so much sugar.  Whatever you decide to do, I guarantee your children will look forward to this tradition every year!

water to blood

Another classic.  A famous go-to is kosher, red Jell-o.

You can be sneaky and put some food coloring in the bottom a glass or pitcher.  Add some water in front of everyone, and wow! You just turned water to blood!

Amazon also has these cups that turn from "frost" to red when you pour cold liquid into them.  Disclaimer, I bought these last year, and they're more a very pale pink rather than white.  Still super cool, and they actually worked perfectly to hold all the other plague goodies, and all the kids loved them!

Frogs

So many toys and stickers on Amazon.  Haribo has kosher gummy frog candy too.

The cutest were the candy coated pecans.  We took green Wilton candy melts and covered some pecans.  Then we took some black sprinkles to add some eyes.  Sooo cute!

Lice

Think tiny.

Sno caps, aka nonpareils, aka movie theater candies are pretty much my go to here.

Flies

Again, pretty tiny

Not quite as tiny as nonpareils.  Chocolate or yogurt covered raisins work great.

As always, Amazon has little plastic flies.

cattle disease

There's lots of cute cow things on Amazon.

Some candy ideas include: Black cow, which is a chocolate caramel or some mints wrapped in cow print.

Boils

Popping Boba.

There is nothing that can replace this.  This is top three one of the best things about the Passover seder and the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

You know it's grossly perfect for boils.

Hail & fire

Think tiny.

Sno caps, aka nonpareils, aka movie theater candies are pretty much my go to here.

locusts

Grasshopper means mint, right?  Well, I bought the "grasshopper KitKats".  They were green and long and perfect! Except they had LEAVEN! I legit fed everyone leaven during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

Again, Amazon for toys.  You can even get real, chocolate covered grasshoppers on Amazon too!  I've glued little paper grasshoppers to green lollipops.
Anything you do will be better than serving leaven. ;)

Darkness

Sunglasses

If you're in the South, there's a good chance Publix will have a BOGO for Dove dark chocolates.

Death of the firstborn

The final and saddest plague.

You have so many options because of baby showers.
